Christy Engle Matthews, Ph.D., LPC-Associate, is a counselor, coach, and evaluator who works with children, teens, college students, and adults to address learning differences (LD), ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), executive functioning challenges, and anxiety related to school, work, and daily life. She takes a collaborative, solution-focused approach, partnering with clients, families, and schools to set meaningful goals and develop clear, actionable plans for growth.

Christy provides individualized counseling, executive functioning coaching, career guidance, parent consultation, and comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations. Her assessments identify cognitive, academic, attentional, and emotional strengths and challenges, offering clear diagnoses and practical, strengths-based recommendations tailored to each client’s needs.

Her counseling draws on evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioral and skills-based strategies. She emphasizes building confidence and resilience through practical tools such as organization, time management, self-advocacy, and emotional regulation—empowering clients to succeed across school, work, and daily life.
Christy’s expertise is grounded in previous roles conducting psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments, consulting with families and educators, and implementing tailored interventions at the Shelton School and UT Dallas Center for BrainHealth.
My goal is to help each client gain a clear understanding of their unique strengths and challenges, build resilience, and achieve meaningful, measurable progress in their academic, personal and professional lives.
